Crystal Module |
A 12 Volt rated module consists of a series
of 36 crystal cells. These cells are protected by an upper and lower membrane.
There are various types of membrane:
glass / glass (or bi-glass)
glass / composite material (tedlar / milar)
The cell+membrane unit forms a laminate.
The addition of a metal frame (aluminium) gives the laminate its rigidity and allows it to be fixed.
The Current-Voltage characteristics of a crystal
module show maximum power where voltage is close to 17/18Volts at 25°C and 1000W/m2.
Changes according to temperature show that voltage decreases and current increases when temperature rises.
Curve changes I=Fct(V) et P=Fct(V) according to temperature.
