Inspecting energy management and conversion equipment.

Preliminary inspection

Before switching on the various items of equipment installed (robot, inverter, charger, etc...) you are strongly advised to check the polarity of the wiring, using simple tests to check polarity.
The equipment may then be switched on for testing.

Inspecting energy management equipment

The energy management system should be tested to ensure that it is functioning correctly (valid measurement, no error message or dysfunction) and to check that the charge and discharge regulation circuits and the guidance system for other equipment is all in working order. If a data acquisition unit is installed, you should check that measurements are consistent by comparing displayed values with measured values on the equipment terminals for voltage and on the shunts for current.

You should also inspect the information box to ensure that it is working correctly. These tests may be carried out using a portable computer and appropriate software.

Inspecting energy conversion equipment.

You should check that the inverter is in good working order when on charge. A relatively high charge (around 50% of max power) is recommended. If the inverter has a "stand-by" mode, you should check that it is working properly.

To test the charger, connect a suitably powered generator to the charger and check the charge current at the machine outlet. Further trials should be carried out if the installation includes an automatic equipment start-up system or an automatic charge switchover system.
